East of Federal, salt air eats exterior hardware, and cylinders within a few blocks of the Broadwalk can seize in a couple of seasons. West of I-95 the housing is newer and the issue is usually builder-grade locks that have simply worn out.
The rental churn here is unlike anywhere else in Broward. Between the beach condos and the short-term rentals around Young Circle, a lot of keys are in circulation at any given moment. If you own a unit that changes hands often, rekeying between guests costs a fraction of replacing hardware.
