What we do in Southwest Ranches

Locksmith services for Southwest Ranches residents & businesses

Almost everything in Southwest Ranches sits behind a gate: Heron Bay, MiraLago, Cascata, Southwest Ranches Golf and Country Club. That changes the job. The lock itself is usually newer, and the access system around it is usually the actual problem.

Why choose KSB

The Southwest Ranches locksmith that picks up and shows up

01

You get Joe, not a subcontractor

Call 954-994-1984 and you reach Joe, the owner. Joe is also the person who turns up at your door. No call centre, no voicemail, and nobody bidding your job out to a stranger.

02

Licensed & insured in Florida

Fully licensed and insured to work throughout Broward County. Ask for the license number any time. A locksmith who gets cagey about that question is telling you something.

03

The quote is the price

The oldest trick in this trade is a cheap number on the phone that triples once your lock is already drilled. You get a clear quote before any work starts, and that is what you pay. No dispatch fee bolted on at the end.

04

Southwest Ranches, since 2012

Southwest Ranches is newer construction and almost entirely guard-gated โ€” Heron Bay, Southwest Ranches Golf and Country Club, Cypress Head. That means two things: getting through the gate is part of the job, so calling the gatehouse ahead genuinely helps, and smart lock and keypad work is far more common here than in older parts of Broward.

What locksmith work in Southwest Ranches actually looks like

Every part of Broward throws up its own problems. These are the ones that come up most often in Southwest Ranches, and knowing which one you are dealing with before we set off usually means bringing the right hardware first time.

The gate is the first lock

On most properties here the keypad or lock at the road matters more than the one on the house. It is also the one exposed to weather year-round, which is why it tends to fail first.

More than one building to key

Barns, tack rooms, workshops and detached garages are normal on these lots. Most owners want them on a sensible key plan rather than a ring of unmarked keys.

Long, dark driveways

Addresses are hard to pick out here at night and driveways run hundreds of feet. A description of the gate or the mailbox gets us to you faster than the house number will.

What we actually run into here

Southwest Ranches is unlike the rest of Broward. Lots are measured in acres, there are no sidewalks or streetlights to speak of, and the first lock on any property is the one at the road rather than the one on the front door. Gate keypads here live outside in the sun and rain all year, so they are usually the first thing to fail, and a dead gate keypad strands you on your own driveway.

The second difference is how many buildings there are. A single property may have a house, a detached garage, a barn, a tack room and a workshop, and the usual state of affairs is a ring of keys nobody can identify. A proper key plan fixes that: one key for the buildings you enter daily, separate keys for what should stay restricted. It is the job we are asked for most often out here.

Common questions

Locksmith FAQ for Southwest Ranches

Answers to what Southwest Ranches residents ask us most.

How fast can a locksmith get to me in Southwest Ranches?
Southwest Ranches is within our regular coverage. Driveways are long and addresses are hard to see after dark, so describe your gate or mailbox when you call 954-994-1984 and we will find you first time.
Is KSB Locksmith licensed to work in Southwest Ranches?
Yes. KSB Locksmith is fully licensed and insured to operate in Southwest Ranches, Broward County, and throughout South Florida. We're happy to share our license number on request.
How much does a locksmith cost in Southwest Ranches?
Starting prices are $95 for a car lockout, $95 for a house lockout, $59 per cylinder to rekey, $95 for a lock change and $139 for a keypad install. Those are starting points rather than flat rates: the lock, the door and how many openings you need all move the figure. You get a firm quote before any work begins, and that is the number you pay. If you have a gate, a barn and a house to sort out, we quote the whole property in one visit rather than charging you for three. Call 954-994-1984.
My smart lock or keypad stopped working in Southwest Ranches. Can you help?
Yes, and it is often not a broken lock at all. Dead batteries, lost programming, and forgotten codes account for most of these calls. Nearly every keypad deadbolt has a mechanical key override, and we can reprogram or rekey the unit once we are in.
Do you service commercial properties in Southwest Ranches?
Yes. Agricultural and equestrian properties, workshops and the businesses along the Griffin Road and Stirling Road corridors. Master key systems, access control, and high-security cylinders.
